A little while ago, I shared here on the blog the photoshoot I did with my grandmother to celebrate her 100th birthday — just five days before she passed away. (You can read the full story and see the photos by clicking here.)
What I never expected was that this photoshoot would touch so many hearts around the world.
It all began when I was invited to give an interview to G1, one of Brazil’s main news portals — such a wonderful surprise!
In a sensitive and heartfelt article, journalist Christiano Borges beautifully told the story behind the photoshoot and the emotions of that day. You can read the full G1 article below.

After that, everything changed — the photos and our story began to spread, and I started receiving many invitations to talk about the photoshoot.
Our story was also featured in major media outlets such as BHAZ, R7 and Record TV, Metrópoles, Terra, Razões para Acreditar, Quebrando o Tabu, TV Meio Norte, among others.
I was also invited for a recorded interview on Record TV’s “Balanço Geral” show, conducted with great care by journalist Akemí Duarte. You can watch the full interview below, where I share more about this very special day.

One of the most touching surprises was being featured on “Razões para Acreditar”, a platform that shares inspiring and emotional stories every day.

Below, I’ve gathered some of the Instagram posts that went viral and brought the story of my beloved grandmother to thousands of people. Unfortunately, it’s impossible to include them all — the response was overwhelming. But I am deeply grateful to everyone who shared our story with so much love.

A special thank you to the TV Meio Norte team for inviting me to appear live and tell the story behind the photoshoot.
Now, her story — the story of Dona Alcenia Maria Sales Ferreira, our matriarch — is forever recorded.
It was my greatest privilege to celebrate her life through my lens and share her with all of Brazil.
Thank you for everything, Grandma.
And thank you all for the love and support.
With love,
Mariana Beltrame
