“Like so many women, I dreamed for a long time about doing a photoshoot and postponed it for years. I didn’t feel ready, I hadn’t found a photographer I trusted, I thought it would cost a fortune, I was afraid it might look vulgar, etc., etc., etc.
And that’s how I missed so many moments in my life that I wish I had captured in a special way. After the birth of my daughter, reclaiming my body, and embracing my new self, I decided I wouldn’t wait any longer.
After being so warmly welcomed by Carol, I booked the shoot—even though I was still very hesitant and didn’t feel ready. I thought about canceling many times and, in fact, arrived at the studio convinced that I wasn’t ready.
But I went anyway, knowing deep down that I would never feel truly ready—that’s just an illusion.
Walking into Mari’s studio is like stepping into an oasis in the middle of the city—a haven where it’s impossible not to feel at ease. I was greeted with kindness and a warm cup of coffee, and under Luísa’s hands, I saw myself in a way I hadn’t in years.
