“I decided…
I decided to look at myself in a unique way. I decided to see myself with pride and joy for everything I have lived through and for the woman I have become.
I decided to embrace a photoshoot that I had dreamed of for so long, but never felt good enough for. I didn’t have the confidence to claim that, like so many women, I also had the right to dream of something like this.
I decided to acknowledge that I am beautiful—not in spite of, but because of my imperfections and scars, which tell the true story of who I am as a woman.
I decided to give myself permission to believe that I am capable of anything!
I decided to accept that I don’t need to be perfect!
I decided to have the courage and the pleasure of holding my own magazine—my magazine. One that tells the story of my life, my essence… Because they are there, in every wrinkle, every strand of hair, every pore, every mark on my body. And none of this is worth a single fraction less just because it lacks the artificial perfection often glorified by the media.
I decided to embrace the fact that I am alive. And here, in color or in black and white, between the lines of each image, are the pains and victories that define the incredible woman I am—full of strength and values.
I decided to accept that the most important person who needs to admire the woman in these pictures is me. Because beyond intimacy or sensuality, this is about essence.
I decided to accept that not everyone will understand. Some may think it’s a waste of time, money, or even an unnecessary form of exposure. But I did this entirely for myself—because I am worth it! Because I don’t need to be like anyone else or better than anyone else. I can simply be me, dream my own dreams, and believe in the woman I am so proud to see in the mirror.
I decided to celebrate 40 years with 40 photos—thanking God for every person who played a role in my journey, for their support, their encouragement, and their presence in each stage of my life.
So, I decided… to entrust this moment to Mariana’s incredible work—her magical lens, her unique way of seeing us—and let her capture it all! And with every single click, she revealed the deep and beautiful emotions that this experience brought me.”
