If you have no idea how to prepare for a women’s photoshoot, you’ve come to the right place.

I specialize in feminine photography for real women, and below I’ve listed my 7 most important tips for you to have a smooth day and an unforgettable experience being photographed.

Come with me, gorgeous! 🙂

1. VISUAL REFERENCES

This step is one of the most important in preparing for a photoshoot:

Create a small collection of photos that you like (no more than 10). This will help you visualize what you want.

From these references, you’ll get a sense of the style of outfits and accessories you should select for your photoshoot.

It’s through your references that you’ll understand the vibe you want to bring to your session.

However, keep in mind that every photoshoot situation is unique, so it’s impossible to copy a photo exactly as in your reference.

Therefore, references are used only as… references!

2. CHOOSING YOUR OUTFITS

To start, choose your outfits based on your references to achieve the same vibe in your session.

But you don’t need to have the exact same pieces of clothing, as every body type requires different fits, and we must adapt for each shoot.

This way, you can mix and match combinations, tones, and fabrics.

Thus, you’ll have a unique and personalized photoshoot just for you.

And don’t forget:

Try everything on before the day of the shoot, remove all tags so they don’t show in the photos, and bring everything on hangers to avoid wrinkling.

3. BEAUTY PREP

Preparing your skin and hair for a women’s photoshoot is very important.

So, in the weeks leading up to your session, I recommend keeping your skin well-hydrated and eating healthily, so that on the day of the shoot, you’ll be glowing.

Afterward, choosing the right makeup artist is also crucial.

Here at the studio, we work with trusted beauty professionals to give you an even safer and more relaxing experience.

If you’d like to try a “bare-faced” look in your photos, it can also be a great option.

4. NUTRITION

Important: Eat normally before your photoshoot—you’ll need energy to move and pose.

This is serious!

Many clients think that skipping meals on the day of the shoot will help reduce their belly size. But honestly, it doesn’t make a difference.

Don’t forget to nourish your body as it deserves, so you can enjoy your moment with plenty of energy and ease.

5. RELAX!

I know—it feels like your chest is going to explode with anxiety in the days leading up to your shoot.

Am I right? 🙂

But as difficult as it may be, try meditating, walking, or relaxing to ease that tightness at least a little.

Preparing for a photoshoot also involves our emotions, as it’s something that stirs our dreams and desires.

But don’t worry—throughout every step of the experience, you’ll be well-guided by me. So, there’s nothing to fear. 🙂

6. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH COMPETENT PEOPLE

Make sure you’ve chosen the best professionals for this special moment.

Once you’ve done that, just trust the process.

If you’re confident that you’ve chosen the right people to be by your side and that you’ve picked the best experience, you can fully relax and enjoy one of the most unforgettable moments of your life.

Also, these professionals will know how to guide you on how to prepare for your photoshoot in great detail.

Additionally, when you’re surrounded by competent professionals, the result is practically guaranteed—they’ll know exactly what to do if anything unexpected happens.

7. TRUST AND LET GO

One thing I’ve noticed with my muses is that the level of trust they place in me and the process is directly linked to the level of success we achieve in the photoshoot.

The more trust you place in the people you’ve chosen (after all, you’ve already made sure you’ve picked the best!), there’s nothing to fear. Just let go.

Everything I do during the session is aimed at achieving the best results and the most wonderful feelings for my muses.

I am extremely grateful for each of the more than 1,000 women I’ve photographed with so much love over the past 13 years.
